PokerStars' Mini PCA Series to Include Online Version of PSPC PokerStars' Mini PCA Series to Include Online Version of PSPC

The iconic PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) has made a grand comeback at its new venue in the Bahamas at the Baha Mar Resort. For those unable to attend the event or don’t have the bankroll to play, the operator has scheduled a mini PCA series.

PokerStars’ mini PCA Series offers 30 events and ten days of live tour coverage from the Bahamas. As the name implies, buy-ins come in an affordable range, starting from just $1.10 and go up to $109.

Three low buy-in tournaments run daily at 12:30 ET, 14:30 ET, and 16:30 ET. The series is open to all dot-com players through to February 3 with total guarantees of nearly $500,000.

But what makes this online poker series even juicier is that each event has added tickets on top of the guaranteed prizes. These added tickets are worth thousands of dollars. Some are giving away EPT Monte Carlo satellite tickets, while others are even awarding a full EPT Monte Carlo package.

Mini PCA Online Series Key Points:

  • Runs from January 25 to February 3
  • 30 tournaments over 10 days, with three each day
  • Buy-ins range from $1.10 to $109
  • Miniature version of PCA Main Event ($55) and PSPC ($25)
  • EPT Monte Carlo seats added to all events
  • Mini PCA Main Event awards EPT Monte Carlo package to the winner

The series mimics the live series by featuring grand events such as the PCA Main Event and the record-setting PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC). The Mini PCA Main Event takes place on Sunday, January 29, boasting $100,000 in guaranteed prize money — the largest of the series for a buy-in of just $55.

The event’s winner takes home the EPT Monte Carlo complete package worth over €6000 on top of the first-place prize.

The miniature online version of the PSPC kicks off on January 30. It follows the same five-day format as the live PSPC in the Bahamas, except that it comes at 1/1000th of the original buy-in, meaning the buy-in is $25.

Like the live event, the event will be played 8-handed, with each player receiving a 60,000 starting stack and blind levels starting at 100/200. However, the blind levels will last for 20 minutes instead of 60 minutes in the live environment.

Late registration will be available for 24 hours, and the final day will resume on February 3 with the remaining six players. Furthermore, the entire buy-in will go to the prize pool, as the operator will not charge any rake. However, the tournament will not feature any guarantee — instead, the operator has added $10,000 to the prize pool.

The top 200 players will be awarded EPT Monte Carlo satellite tickets and cash prizes worth €17,000.

It will be the second time PokerStars will run the online miniature version of PSPC, replicating the same format and structure except for the pricing. Its first edition ran when the PSPC live event debuted in 2019. The event set the record for the largest $25K buy-in event in live poker history, attracting over 1000 players to create a prize pool of $26 million.

This time, the operator will run online versions of the PSPC and an online version of the entire PCA tour. Various formats are part of the series, including PKOs, heads-up Total KOs, mixed games, freezeouts, and more.

The live PCA series kicked off on January 22 and will run through February 3. The iconic series features a massive 70 events, including the prestigious PCA Main Event coming for a buy-in of $10,300. The triumphant PSPC returns for its second edition from January 30 through February 3.

All 420 Platinum Passes have been given away, locking in at least $10.2 million in prize pool. PokerStars will be live-streaming the action of the PSPC and PCA series from Wednesday, January 25, to Friday, February 3. The online series on the dot-com market will run through the same dates.
