Micro-stakes online poker players will be heading to 888poker next week for another edition of the Micro Rollers (MR) ChampionChips. With 10 days of small-stakes poker on the agenda, this is a chance for players with smaller bankrolls to hit a big score.
Day 1 flights for the $100k guaranteed MR ChampionChips #30 – Mystery Bounty Main Event get started on the opening day and run throughout the festival. As befits a Main Event, the $25 buy-in has the biggest guarantee of the series by more than double, with the next biggest games coming in at $40k guaranteed.
In total, there are 11 games with five-figure guarantees across the series and more than $500k in total guarantees across all the MR-branded games during the series dates. In addition to a number of side games carrying the MR ChampionChips branding, there are 33 numbered events in the series with guarantees ranging from $1,500 – $100,000.

The name is more than just branding — the latest series at 888poker is aimed squarely at the smaller bankrolls. With 11 numbered events priced at $3.50 or less, and a median buy-in for the whole series of $4.40, micro-stakes players will find a lot of value.

Outside of the Main Event, another key event to look out for is the $10,000 MR ChampionChips #26 – Mystery Bounty Mini Event for $3.50. Day 2 of the event goes on Apr 21, and players can book a second-day seat with Day 1 flights starting on Apr 15.
Other high-value games include two $40k guaranteed events, though they are the High Roller games for the series at $55 each. The first High Roller runs on opening day while the second one runs on Apr 21. Both games start at 6 PM GMT.
Apr 14 & 21 also feature $12k guaranteed games for $11 including the opening game of the series, MR ChampionChips #01 – Opening Mystery Bounty at 4 PM GMT on the 14th. Add in six games with $10k guaranteed, including the high-value $10,000 MR ChampionChips #26, and another 10 with $5k or more guaranteed, and the value in this series is clear.
Long History of ChampionChips
This is the latest edition in a series with a history on 888poker going back to 2016 when it introduced the series as a competitor to the rival MicroMillions from PokerStars. That Olympic year saw a sports-themed series, but featured the familiar low buy-ins that micro-stakes players have come to love about ChampionChips.
Since then, the series has returned annually with the most recent series happening in late 2023. That series saw more than 22,000 entries with prize pools as much as 40% over the guarantees, and there is every reason to expect this year to be just as big.
Live Tour Looks to Barcelona
While micro-stakes players will be battling it out for supremacy on the online felt, live players will have their eyes cast ahead to the upcoming 888poker LIVE Barcelona stop, the third on the main tour for the 2024 season. The games in the Catalonian capital start on May 8 and follow successful stops in Bucharest and Madrid earlier in the season.
