Next Gen HUD Turns Player Statistics into Pilot Dials Right at the Table

New ProPokerHUD launching new premium HUDs that can replace the normal numbers of player data with graphical displays.

  • ProPokerHUDs has taken an Innovative approach to Head Up Displays (HUD) by implementing the graphical display of online poker statistics into ist product.
  • Top online tournament player “spacegravy” wanted his own bespoke HUD, but after it was written, decided to set up a company to make it available to a wider audience.
  • The use of graphics provides the biggest difference compared to existing HUDs, enabling beginners to get up to speed more quickly, and giving grinders faster information processing.

Pennsylvania State Senate Agrees to Study Viability of Online Gaming

Senate support for a study into the viability of gaming in Pennsylvania bodes well for legalized online gaming.

  • Senate Resolution 273 in Pennsylvania gathered almost unanimous support as Senators across political parties agreed “to study the current condition and future viability of gaming in this Commonwealth.”
  • Forty-seven of the 50 state senators voted for the measure with only one dissenting vote.
  • Back in June, House Committee on Gaming Oversight Chair, Tina Pickett, said that legislators would wait to see how the new online gaming laws affect land based casinos before considering their own internet gambling bill.
  • The bill was introduced as a result of concern that state gaming revenues have declined in the face of competition from neighboring states.

Problem Gambling Behavior in Rats Reduced by Medication

British Columbia researchers used a rat casino to promote and then treat problem gambling behavior.

  • Experiments carried out at the University of British Columbia are the first to show that problem gambling behaviors can be treated with drugs.
  • Rats in a specially designed casino exhibited problem gambling behaviors and following treatment with a dopamine D4 receptor-blocking medication, the problem behaviors were reduced.

A weekly review of the online poker market: This week, partypoker France, 888poker and the Chico Poker Network. The week ended almost where it started, but dipped over 1.5% on the journey. PokerStars Spain was the biggest mover in the top 10, up 9.25%, followed by Winamax which managed a 4% gain. iPoker was the biggest faller of the top 20, but its 2.88% slide in cash game traffic would not normally be considered unusual variance.


GTECH Expected to Close Dot-Com Online Poker Network

Network owner plans to stick to nationally regulated markets, pokerfuse understands. GTECH’s SPIELO G2, formerly Boss Media, is planning to close its dot-com “International Poker Network” (IPN) and concentrate on regulated markets, according to a source close to the matter.
