The World Series of Poker (WSOP) organizers have finally released the specifics for the highly awaited Tournament of Champions (TOC) event.

Breaking tradition, this year’s event will depart from its usual Las Vegas setting during the live WSOP series. Instead, it will inaugurate a new location and occur prior to the commencement of the summer series.

The WSOP 2024 Tournament of Champions is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California. It will be held from May 22 to May 24 at The Commerce Casino & Hotel, situated in the heart of Los Angeles.

“For years, the Commerce has been the home of poker in Los Angeles and one of the leading card rooms in the world,” said Ty Stewart, Senior Vice President & Executive Director of the WSOP.

“We look forward to kicking off our new strategic relationship with a special WSOP Circuit finale and the Tournament of Champions bracelet event. We also look forward to qualifying more players from Los Angeles for the WSOP Main Event than ever before,” Steward further added.

Details regarding the WSOP online bracelet series for players in the US is still pending and have not been disclosed yet.

The Tournament of Champions (TOC) stands as an exclusive invitation-only $1 million freeroll tournament, open solely to champions from the ongoing WSOP Circuit season. Eligible contenders include winners of gold rings from live or online circuit events, as well as online or live bracelet winners, including those from the WSOP Europe.

In 2023, the event was held in Las Vegas at the start of the WSOP 2023 series. This year, it precedes the commencement of the WSOP series, starting on May 22nd and spanning three days.

Similar to the previous year, entry to the tournament is free but restricted to individuals who have clinched a gold ring or bracelet from the 2023-2024 WSOP Circuit season up to May 2024. Despite its freeroll nature, the champion of this prestigious event receives not only a significant cash prize but also the esteemed gold bracelet.

As per WSOP’s website, so far over 600 players have qualified for the WSOP 2024 Tournament of Champions, competing for a prize pool of $1 million and this figure could increase. Last year, 960 players qualified, although only 741 ultimately participated.

WSOP-C Final Stop Schedule

The ongoing 19th edition of the WSOP Circuit series commenced at Choctaw Casino Resort in Oklahoma immediately after the WSOP 2023 came to an end. After more than two dozen stops, the final stop of the WSOP-C 2023/2024 season concludes from May 10 to May 24 at The Commerce Casino & Hotel, featuring $1.75 million in guarantees.

WSOP Circuit 2024 Los Angeles Schedule

The final Circuit festival in Los Angeles comprises 18 ring events, with all winners receiving entry into the Tournament of Champions. The festival commences with the 2-day $600 Housewarming No-Limit Hold’em, featuring a $500,000 guarantee. Additionally, it includes the traditional $1700 WSOP-C Main Event, boasting a $1 million guarantee.

Other notable events include the $1100 Mystery Bounty No-Limit Hold’em with $100,000 in guaranteed prize money; the $2200 High Roller NLH as well as $400 PLO and $400 HORSE. In total, the festival guarantees $1.75 million in prizes.

The final two days will feature last chance satellites, affording players the opportunity to win an $11,000 package inclusive of the WSOP 2024 Main Event entry and a $1000 travel stipend.

GGPoker, the international partner of WSOP, will once again serve as the primary sponsor of the WSOP-C, allowing players to qualify via their online platform and through their subscription-based social poker app ClubGG.

As per WSOP officials, since June 2023, the 19th season of the WSOP-C has already featured 20 stops across the US and 10 international stops, attracting over 170,000 entrants and generating $100 million in prize pools.
