Key Takeaways
  • The heads up battle was won against Dutch tournament specialist Noah “Exclusive” Boeken.
  • Blom built on his 2012 SCOOP success where he won back-to-back events.

Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has won the PokerStars Spring Championship of Poker (SCOOP) Main Event. One year ago he stunned the poker world with back to back SCOOP wins in events 2 and 3, and now he’s won the big one and almost $1.1m in prize money.

He was one of the top chip leaders throughout the final table of the $10k buy in event, but his stack showed the expected volatility as the play got down to three handed. The heads up battle was against Dutch tournament specialist Noah “Exclusive” Boeken.

Blom soon built a three-to-one chip lead and the duel ended after less than an hour when Blom’s Qc-Tc beat Boeken’s Ks-5c. Blom’s dream flop came Js-Kc-9s giving him a straight against Boeken’s top pair. All the chips went in and Isildur1 became the champion.

Boeken is well known in Holland for the television shows, Veronica Poker and Poker Kings NL which he hosts with Marcel Lüske and until Feb 2012 he was a PokerStars Team Pro.

Twenty three year old Blom is a former PokerStars pro and one of three Team Pros on Full Tilt. He is also one of the most active and exciting high-stakes cash game players in the world. According to High Stakes DB he is up almost $3m in online cash games this year.

In 2012 he had his first seven figure live tournament win when he took $1.25m for first place in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) $100,000 No Limit Hold’em – Super High Roller Event.

He will always be known for his unbelievable heads up nosebleed cash matches on the old Full Tilt, where he took part in all ten of the largest cash game pots in online poker history. In those days he concealed his identity, now the whole poker world knows exactly who he is.
