Madness Atop The GPI300 Rankings

Ole Schemion (GPI#1) made a return to #1 following his win in the EPT Sanremo High Roller event last week while WPT Player of the Year Mukul Pahuja (GPI#7) reaches a career-high on the GPI.

But the big shocker was that former #1 Daniel Negreanu (GPI#12) nosedived to 12th in the World after losing a massive 660 points last week. Negreanu became the victim of his past success.

Stammen Wins WPT World Championship

Current 2014 GPI Player of the Year leader Keven Stammen (GPI#58) added to his lead in grand fashion. Stammdogg won the WPT World Championship over the weekend, defeating Byron Kaverman (GPI#20) heads-up for the major!

Stammen joins the list of players one win away from entering poker’s Triple Crown Club. After winning a WSOP bracelet in 2009 and collecting his first WPT title on Saturday, Stammen is now a EPT title away from joining the “club”.

Colman Wins EPT Grand Final Super High Roller

Online heads-up specialist Daniel Colman (GPI#3264) chose a great time to earn his first victory on the live tournament circuit. Colman defeated some of the game’s best and some of the richest business people in the world over the weekend, winning the EPT Grand Final Super High Roller event, earning him € 1,539,300 and over 450 GPI points.

Colman defeated fellow online star Dan “Jugleman” Cates (GPI#29943) heads-up for the title. Russian high-stakes pro Igor Kurganov (GPI#149) was third while GPI World #1 Ole Schemion (GPI#1) padded his lead atop the EPT10 Player of the Year leaderboard – powered by the Global Poker Index – with his 7th place finish.

Nesterenko Wins FPS Monaco, Anderson 2nd In High Roller

Yury Nesterenko (GPI#9712) became the latest winner on the France Poker Series tour, winning the kickoff event to the EPT Grand Final Festival. PokerStars Team Online member Gabril Nassif (GPI#935) final tabled the event.

Meanwhile, China’s Chaofei Wang got the best of GPI300 member and online superstar Calvin Anderson (GPI#218) heads-up for the FPS High Roller title.

More From Monte Carlo

Expect more news from Monte Carlo in next week’s Newsmakers as the EPT Grand Final Main Event and the popular 25K High Roller event are just some of the tournaments still to come in Monaco.

Day 2 play in the Main Event is currently underway as surprise, surprise OLE SCHEMION is currently in contention.

Madsen Wins BSO 1k Six-Max

In between Top 20 finishes at the Borgata Spring Open Championship and the WPT World Championship, Jeff Madsen (GPI#83) would earn the victory in the 1K NLH Six Max Re-Entry event and adding the 52K USD top prize to his bankroll.

Madsen defeated Kevin Saul (GPI#348) heads-up while Justin Young (GPI#204) would final table the event, finishing in 4th position.

Kuether Heads Final Table At WSOPC Philly

Joe Kuether (GPI#43) will take the chip lead into final table play at the World Series of Poker Circuit event at Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester, PA.

Timothy West (GPI#108), BSO Six Max event runner-up Kevin Saul (GPI#348) and Kyle Bowker (GPI#207) start the day with the smallest chip stacks, although their experience could help them flip the switch on their opposition – don’t count them out yet!
