Our new website at rec.poker launched in July 2020 and we wanted to celebrate by reviewing the past year in the RecPoker community. So much has happened in the past 12 months beyond the website and it is time to reflect! The Lock-In – Kevmath

This week, we are locked in and out wringing out Kevin Mathers for all his inside information!

It is with great pleasure that Dara and David sit down with Kevmath to discuss the stories of the week. The lads start off with a tribute to Layne Flack before talking about Phil Hellmuth’s 7th consecutive victory on High Stakes Duel.

Using Phil Galfond’s viral Twitter thread as a leaping off point, there is a deep dive on the possible origins of superstitions and their connection to transitional objects.

After that, it’s all WSOP stories as the trio discuss the wisdom of Landon Tice’s 8-1 bracelet bet with Bill Perkins, the prospect of Europe to US travel restrictions being loosened before the WSOP starts in September and the rumour that the 2022 Series will be played at Bally’s.

Kevmath is a good sport throughout, dropping knowledge bombs and quite possibly letting a bit of inside information slip.
