Pennsylvania online poker apps bounced back from their worst month for revenue in 2022 so far. The vertical’s annual growth rate also showed stabilization for a second consecutive month, data from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) show.
Online poker revenue in the Keystone State hit $2.8 million in July. That marked a 6.3% increase month-over-month and 6.5% year-over-year, with both improving upon a mark of $2.6 million.

PokerStars PA Rebounds From Record Low
PokerStars PA rebounded from its worst month to date. The Flutter brand, which operates in Pennsylvania through the land-based casino license of the Mount Airy Casino, grossed $1.6 million in July, up 1.1% from June.
The operator was down 17.3% year-over-year ($2 million), but that’s more than likely because July 2021 was the first month where it saw competition from three other online poker rooms — BetMGM Poker PA, Borgata Poker PA, and WSOP PA, which had only been live for about half of the month.
Despite the rebound, PokerStars market share slipped to 59.2%, its lowest mark since February (56.9%). January remains the operator’s best month for revenue in 2022 at $2.2 million.
Year-to-date revenue totaled $12.6 million, which equates to a market share of 61.2%.

WSOP Continues to Climb
WSOP, on the Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino license, reported $744k of revenue in July, a 7.5% increase from June ($692k).
Revenue from the state’s newest online poker room more than tripled from the same month a year ago ($242k), but that figure is a little misleading since the operator only launched in the middle of the month. A better picture of how WSOP is faring in the Keystone State will be available next month — when we can make a year-over-year comparison using an entire month of revenue data.
So far, WSOP’s best month for revenue in 2022 has been March ($919k). The brand, owned by Caesars, has grossed $5.5 million in 2022, equal to 26.9% of the market.

BetMGM, Borgata Becoming More Popular
BetMGM Poker PA, on the license for the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, grossed $275k in July. That marked its best performance since March ($285k) and equated to a 21.5% increase month-to-month ($227k).
Although the third-place operator’s market share of 10% was its highest since October 2021 (10.6%), its revenue was down 5.2% compared to the same month a year ago ($291k).
Fourth-place poker operator Borgata Poker PA, whose partner is Rivers Casino Philadelphia, reported a record $108k of revenue in July, up 73.1% from June ($63k) and up 27.9% from July 2021 ($85k). Borgata’s market share also hit a record 3.9%.
BetMGM and Borgata, both members of the BetMGM US Network, rebounded from record lows in June. So far in 2022, combined revenue from BetMGM and Borgata equals $2.4 million, for a market share of 11.8%.
The pair appear to be increasing in popularity as the year goes on — their market share was 11.5% last month and 10.2% in January.
Pennsylvania’s four online poker operators have grossed $20.6 million in 2022.
