Ultimate Gaming announced Thursday that it has released a slew of software upgrades for its client in both New Jersey and Nevada. One of the most prominent changes comes in the form of an improved geolocation process for both states.

For Ultimate’s players in New Jersey, geolocation no longer requires a mobile phone to verify one’s physical location—the process now depends on Wi-Fi.

The same goes for Nevada, provided a Wi-Fi connection is already established. Previous issues related to public hotspots and poor reception have been resolved, according to the press release.

Ultimate Gaming CEO Tobin Prior said Thursday that “these software releases mark a significant initial step forward in terms of our company’s focus on responding to our customers’ needs and making steady progress on improving the online gaming experience.”

The Ultimate Gaming client has had a number of challenges in its first year of operation, including false negatives when geolocating players and service outages.
