WPT Global has announced its first-ever online tournament series, set to take place July 20 — August 22. According to the available information, the series will feature 50 tournaments in total, with the $1-for-$1 Million tournament being the pinnacle of the Summer Festival.
As the name suggests, the tournament will feature a tiny buy-in of $1 while offering a massive seven-figure prize pool, giving all players a chance to get involved and have a shot at big money. Initial flights will run twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays) for the entire duration of the Festival, while the final day will take place on August 22. The final table action will be streamed live on the WPT Twitch channel.

Versatile Action and Big Guarantees
While the $1,000,000 guarantee will be the premier event of the WPT Global Summer Festival, the room has much more in store. Over four weeks, players will have an opportunity to participate in numerous No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha events.
The Main Event, which runs August 12 – 22, features a buy-in of $330 and comes with a $1,000,000 guarantee. There is also the Mini Main Event for smaller bankrolls, running during the same period and offering a $100,000 guarantee.
A few more tournaments are planned in the $200 buy-in range with solid six-figure guarantees in the Hold’em bracket. The room will also host several PLO and Short Deck tournaments during the Summer Festival, including the $220 PLO Championship with a $150,000 guarantee and its micro version for $22 and $15,000 guaranteed.
WPT Global will be hosting satellites starting as low as $1 throughout the series, giving players a chance to win their seats in larger buy-in tournaments.

WPT Global Sending Players to $15M Guaranteed WPT World Championship
On top of cash prizes that winners of individual tournaments will claim, WPT Global is also running an exciting promo that adds a fair bit of value to the proceedings. Namely, all tournament winners will get an entry to the Tournament of Champions Freeroll, where the top two finishers will receive an entry to the $15,000,000 guaranteed WPT World Championship set to take place at Wynn, Las Vegas, in December.
Everybody who makes money in any of the tournaments will get an entry to a different freeroll where players will get to fight for additional online tournament tickets.
If one or both of the WPT World Championship entry winners are under the age of 21 (which would mean they could not register and play in this WPT event in Las Vegas), they will receive WPT Global tournament tickets equal to the value of the live event buy-in.
Although the operator is still finalizing the series details, Summer Festival events have started appearing on WPT Global already, indicating an exciting month ahead of MTT action.
This is the first online series hosted by the room, and looking at the guarantees, it will be a big one. It will be interesting to see if WPT Global can achieve its goals and attract enough players to the tables to meet these guarantees or if there will be some overlays in play.
