First-Ever Mystery Bounty Online Circuit Event to Debut on WSOP MI First-Ever Mystery Bounty Online Circuit Event to Debut on WSOP MI

The monthly scheduled WSOP Online Circuit Series is underway across all the markets in which WSOP US operates.

Three different series are running concurrently, one on WSOP NJ/NV — sharing the same player pool and guaranteeing over $1 million. Another will run on WSOP PA — and one on WSOP MI, both promising over $260,000 in guarantees — as just a typical online circuit series that runs every month on WSOP.

But the Michigan online poker series on the WSOP MI platform is unique.

The WSOP Michigan Online Circuit Series features 12 ring events just like the other two series, but one of the ring events is played in the increasingly popular Mystery Bounty tournament (MBT) format.

Event #9, a $215 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty with a guarantee of $30,000, is scheduled to run this Saturday, February 25 on the WSOP MI platform.

The tournament allows up to three re-entries, with blind levels increasing every ten minutes. Mystery Bounty takes place once level 20 kicks off. The winner of this event will not only receive a WSOP Gold Ring and qualify for the Tournament of Champions scheduled to run during the upcoming WSOP 2023 series.

The Debut of The Mystery Bounty Online Ring Event in the US Market

This marks the first time a Mystery Bounty event is running as an online circuit/ring event in the US market.

The format debuted first in Michigan in late January and a week later in Pennsylvania. Initially, the structure was introduced tentatively, running once a day with modest guarantees ranging from $1000 to $5000. However, after it got traction, the operator expanded the Mystery Bounty tournaments, running multiple times daily and launching a $10,000 guaranteed tournament on Tuesdays.

Now, for the first time ever, the event will run in the form of a Circuit event in the US market and only the third time virtually. GGPoker in the dot-com market has already spread the MB format twice as part of its annual run WSOP Online Circuit Series — once during the spring period and the other in winter.

Only Available to Michigan Players

Though WSOP PA also spreads MB tournaments, only the Michigan Circuit Series features the randomized bounty format. It could be that WSOP may be waiting for approval from Pennsylvania state regulators to offer the format as a Circuit Ring Event.

But the MB format is now being offered as a Gold Ring Event, so the operator could run the format as an online bracelet event as well. While the 2023 WSOP online bracelet schedule in Michigan or Pennsylvania does not feature a Mystery Bounty event, WSOP may make changes to the program, adding or replacing one of its existing tournaments with an MB event.

The online bracelet WSOP 2023 schedule for Michigan & Pennsylvania players comprises seven events — all played in No-Limit Hold’em format, two of which are played in Progressive Knockout (PKO) format. Buy-ins range from $300 to $600.

$50,000 Guaranteed Mystery Bounty to Run on Both WSOP MI & PA this Sunday

While Pennsylvania online poker players won’t be able to play a Mystery Bounty-structured Circuit event, they shouldn’t be too disappointed as the officials have also scheduled a $50,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty event in both Michigan and Pennsylvania.

On February 2 at 6:00 PM, a $50,000 guaranteed MB event runs on both WSOP PA & WSOP MI platforms. The buy-in for this event is $109, meaning it would need to attract even more players than the Circuit event to beat its guarantee.

The Sunday event is structured similarly to the one that will run as part of the ring series a day prior, except the blinds go up every twelve minutes, and the bounty portion kicks in on level 22.

Mystery Bounty is not yet available to New Jersey & Nevada players as WSOP NJ/NV runs on 888poker’s decade-old software, which does not support the format.

Players can sign up for WSOP and get ready for all the sizzling Mystery Bounty action coming up.
