BetMGM and Borgata Poker PA: Player’s Guide to Launch Promotions

There are new options for online poker in PA starting today, as BetMGM PA and Borgata PA both launch their poker rooms in Pennsylvania. Rumored for months, the new rooms are finally open, offering PA residents their first alternative to the PokerStars PA de facto monopoly in the state.

Powered by software provided by the partypoker US Network, the two new rooms went live Thursday, April 29 after a soft launch the day before and weeks of speculation prior to that.

Alongside generous welcome bonuses, which include $25 free-play dollars just for registering (no bonus code required) and a deposit match up to $600, the pair are encouraging early-birds to check out the network with a big spread of additional perks:

• Freeroll with $40,000 in prizes for all new players.
• More cash bonuses coming up over the next 30 days.
• Grinder promotion offering cashback up to $6500 every month in a huge giveaway to the biggest players that stretches on to the end of the year.

The market has been open since late 2019 when PokerStars Pennsylvania opened the first online poker room in the state.

The new PA rooms join BetMGM Poker MI as the first forays for network outside of their original jurisdiction, New Jersey. BetMGM opened in Michigan in March of this year and got off to a decent start with growing cash game traffic through their first month in operation.

With the new rooms opening in PA, there are lots of new promotions on deck for players. Both rooms have generous welcome bonuses available to new players, but there are lots of other promotions for PA players.

Keystone Grind

Both new rooms in PA are offering grind bonuses for cash game players. Borgata offers Grind Rewards while BetMGM offers Keystone Grind, but both are giving away up to $6,500 in prizes just for playing poker.

Players earn iReward Points (iRPs) for every hand played, and those points add up to real money prizes at the end of the month. As more iRPs are earned, prize value goes up.

No opt-in is required to grind your way to prizes. Just start playing and the iRPs will start adding up. At the end of the month, the total iRPs earned in the month will determine a prize, with $1 for 100 iRPs, and up to $6,500 for high volume grinders who rack up 300,000 points.

Prizes are paid out in cash and are available for withdrawal. Prize multiples increase as players accrue iRPs. While it takes 100 iRPs to earn the first dollar, $10 only requires 750 iRPs, and 6,000 iRPs will get you $100, so individual points increase in value as they accumulate.

Invitational Freeroll

To welcome Keystone state residents to the new sites, there is an Invitational Freeroll running on May 16 with $40,000 in prizes.

There is more than $1200 in value up top for first place in the freeroll, but 800 players will share in the huge free prize pool.

Prizes in the Invitational Freeroll include both tickets and tournament dollars (T$). Everyone who cashes the tournament will get at least T$10. Players who finish from 800th to 151st will win as much as T$50 for their efforts.

There are $109 and $215 tournament tickets on offer for players who finish 150th or better, and players who finish in the top five will get from T$100 to T$1,000 in addition to a $215 ticket.

All players on BetMGM or Borgata Poker are invited, but players have to accept the invitation.
