Big Euro Brands Among Ten New Domains On Belgium Blacklist

The list of sites prohibited to offer online gaming in Belgium has been expanded this week to include some of the more prominent European online poker brands.

Bwin, Betsson, Betclic, Expekt, Betfair, William Hill and Stan James join the growing list of online poker rooms identified as continuing to serve Belgium customers without a license.

The new additions join the likes of 888, Everest, Titan Poker and Chilipoker. The list is now thirty operators long.

Belgian players who play on blacklisted sites face fines of up to €25k, placing the burden on the consumer to be knowledgeable of which operators exist on which list.

Operators themselves also face hefty fines. It is also understood that the large Internet service providers in Belgium will block access to sites on the blacklist at the request of the Belgian Gambling Authority.

Belgian players only have a few choices of whitelisted poker rooms: PokerStars, Partouche and Casino777 were the first to be offered an A+ license, later followed by GoldenPalace.be and Win2day.
