PokerStars has teamed up with Payzone, a network of “payment acceptance” points in the UK, to offer “PokerStarsTopUp,” prepaid cards that allow customers to buy vouchers that can be redeemed for online funds in the cashier.
The payment network consists of over 25,000 retail locations where customers can purchase special top up cards with cash, debit or credit cards. PokerStarsTopUp Cards are available in denominations of £10, £25, £50, £100 and £250. A Customer can then cash in these cards in the cashier to fund their poker account.
Along with offering an alternative method for customers not comfortable using credit cards online and may appeal to those who wish to limit their spending. It also facilitates exchanging or gifting PokerStars vouchers.
PokerStars is the first online gaming company that Payzone has worked with, who list major UK utility retailers and transport companies as their clients.
The system is only for depositing. Customers will need to use one of the more traditional methods—like bank transfer, check, wire or through an online wallet—to process cashouts.
