BetMGM Poker MI has quietly rolled out SPINS, its take on the ultra-popular lottery sit and go (LSNG) game, in the Michigan market. It follows their launch in Pennsylvania earlier this year.
As seen elsewhere, SPINS at BetMGM play exactly as the ones offered by partypoker in the dot-com market: They are hyper-turbo, three-handed and usually winner-take-all tournaments where the prize pool is randomized at the start of the tournament. These prizes can be anywhere from 2x to as high as 1200x the buy-in.
Players start with 500 starting stack and the blinds go up every three minutes, giving players an opportunity to win big prizes in a short span of time.

They are currently available to Michigan players in four different buy-ins, $1, $5, $10 and $25, with top prize pools ranging from $1000 to $25,000—exactly the same offering as seen in the network’s Pennsylvania online poker offering. There is also a logo of the SPINS’ faster version which goes by the name “Ultra,” but it appears that format is currently unavailable.

It was invented by leading French online poker operator Winamax in 2013 under the “Expresso” product name but was popularized by online giant PokerStars when it launched Spin & Go a year later.

PokerStars’ Spin & Go has been running in the New Jersey market for as long as it existed with buy-ins ranging from $1 to $25. It also spreads the game in Michigan with the same buy-ins and prizes. It came to Pennsylvania fairly recently.
WSOP.com offers its BLAST version in New Jersey, Nevada (which shares the same player pool) and Pennsylvania. However, its product comes with a unique twist: A countdown timer appears at the table after a certain period of play based on the prize pool multiplier. Once the time is up, the remaining players are automatically all-in until there is a winner.
The structure is also different: Players start with 1500 starting stack and blinds go up every 2 minutes. Furthermore, the top prize multiplier goes up to 10,000 times, meaning players at WSOP.com can vie for a $300,000 payout, much higher than PokerStars and BetMGM/partypoker US Network.
In New Jersey and Nevada, BLAST games are available in 4-handed format while in the Keystone State it is the usual 3-handed.

Second US State to Get SPINS Offering; New Jersey Next in Line
The launch of SPINS marks the product’s debut in the second US state after BetMGM Pennsylvania, where the network went live with the Spins offering from day 1.
At the time, pokerfuse reached out to BetMGM whether the operator plans to deploy Spins in its other two states. The operator did confirm to pokerfuse about its expansion but the timeframe was not provided.
On October 6, SPINS finally went live on *BetMGM MI*—ten months after it launched in the market.
Now only the New Jersey online poker market remains where the operator has yet to offer the game. However, it should not be too long before the game rolls out in NJ as the company has signaled its intention to expand Spins to all its markets. It may perhaps be waiting for the green light from the New Jersey regulators.
Currently, there are no promotions available to celebrate the launch of SPINS in the Wolverine State. However, players should not be too disappointed as the operator is expected to ramp up the offering with enticing promotions.
