Microgaming Fast-Fold Only Mobile App "Blaze Mobile" Coming Soon

Microgaming has announced that it will shortly have a version of its fast-fold poker game Blaze available for mobile devices.

No details of the new client are available, only that it will be fast-fold only, similar in vein to Full Tilt’s Rush Mobile client.

Microgaming currently has a browser-based poker client written in Adobe Air, which is playable on Android, but has seen limited roll-out among skins.

Microgaming’s Blaze was launched to compete with
PokerStars’ Zoom and the soon-to-return Full Tilt Rush Poker, and is currently available in its desktop client.

Microgaming’s implementation is similar to existing offerings, and stays true to its name: the network claims up to 300 hands per hour per table can be played, and pokerfuse’s test suggest that’s possible.

Microgaming saw a 30% fall in network traffic during the last six months, but has recovered the loss completely in the last two months. It is not exactly clear what drove the boost, but the early launch of Blaze which debuted on StanJames Poker and Ladbrokes can only have helped.

A dispute with 5050 Poker that led to the room’s closure and likely loss of player funds did not help Microgaming’s reputation. Highly reputable Swedish operator Betsafe recently added a Microgaming skin, dubbed “Poker Black,” to its existing Ongame-based Poker Red operation and this will have helped to restore confidence.

It seems probable that Microgaming will also benefit from the closure of Entraction by owners IGT as 48 skins are now looking for a new home.
