After the first half of the International Leg of the 2021 WSOP Online Bracelet Events on GGPoker, there was little doubt which country would end up on top of the rankings.

Brazil stormed into the lead early on and it didn’t let go—it ultimately secured the top spot with six gold bracelets in total, double the next best country.

Last year’s strongest nation, the United States, finished in fifth place and was one of eight countries with multiple bracelet winners.

The festival on the leading online poker site generated more than $90 million in prize money across 33 gold bracelet events. On average, each of these events attracted 3,878 entries and the total number of entries was just shy of 128,000.

Except for one tournament, the set guarantee was surpassed without any major trouble but the one that failed to get there was the $5,000 Main Event. With an ambitious $20 million goal to reach, the overlay heading into the final day of flights was more than $4 million. That was cut down to $563,000 eventually.

The flagship tournament of the festival featured two Brazil Brazilians on the final table but they were unable to increase the overall gold tally. It didn’t matter anymore as Brazil had already locked up the first place in the rankings with six victories and 13 top three finishes.

No other country had more than three winners—Russia Russia, Poland Poland, and the Ukraine Ukraine all achieving that level. Russia took a clear second place with three silvers and two bronze finishes.

Across all 33 gold bracelet events, players from 18 different countries appeared in the winner’s circle. Seven countries completed the trifecta with at least one spot each on the podium and eight countries boasted multiple winners.

In the meanwhile, China China was the most successful nation without a bracelet winner with seven finishes on the podium and 15 final table appearances.

Throughout the entire festival, players from Brazil dominated the final stages of the tournaments, which is also showcased in the number of final table appearances. Brazil sits atop with 32 while Russia is in second place with 21. The United States and Canada are tied in third place with 18 appearances each but weren’t able to repeat their overall success of the inaugural edition in 2020.

During the opening events, players of the South American powerhouse nation confirmed the Year of Brazil as Joao Simao and Thiago Crema were among the early winners. Poland went head-to-head as they also had two early winners in Bartlomiej Swieboda and Kacper Pyzara. As a matter of fact, these were the first two WSOP gold bracelets for Poland Poland and Dominik Panka made it three towards the end of the series.

However, there was little doubt which nation would end up at the top of the ranking as the top three finishes for Brazilians kept pouring in. Throughout the last few years, the country has been one of the fastest growing markets in the online poker industry and features various poker stables, coaching sites and poker teams.
