Caesars Interactive Entertainment launched the US’s second regulated real-money online poker room on Thursday.

The site is now open to players within the Nevada border after soft launching to a select number of players earlier this week.

As is the case in the UK, WSOP.com is powered by 888poker software. The version of the software modified for use in Nevada includes downloads for both PC and Mac users. However, unlike in the UK, the client does not save hand histories to the players’ hard drives and HUDs are not allowed.

The new online poker room is only the second of its kind in operation in the US. Ultimate Poker is the first regulated online poker room to have launched in the US, having gone live earlier this year on April 30.

Caesars looks to differentiate its offering by offering a wider variety of games.

WSOP.com currently offers:

  • Hold’em (NL and FL)
  • Omaha Hi (PL)
  • Omaha 8 (FL)
  • 7-Card Stud (FL)
  • 7-Card Stud 8 (FL)

WSOP.com is also taking a different path than its predecessor by not hiring poker celebrities to endorse and promote its product.

“As an organizer who has a key role in … the outcome of the game we see ourselves in the league function, aimed to be impartial and to have maximum trust and integrity,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of The World Series of Poker and Vice President for Caesars Interactive Entertainment, during a media conference call Monday.

“As a guiding principle we think it’s best to spend our promotional dollars to foster a healthy ecosystem, spread it across the community and the market at large versus spending it against a handful of players.”
