World’s leading online poker operator PokerStars USA is running a mini-series of poker tournaments in all three US regulated markets this weekend, dubbed the KO Weekend.

As the name suggests, the mini-series will be aimed primarily at PKO tournament lovers, with a series of a dozen and a half tournaments each offering the well-known and well-liked format.

The Series will run at PokerStars NJ, PokerStars PA, and PokerStars MI from February 25 to February 27 and will feature the following number of tournaments:

Pennsylvania Michigan New Jersey
Total Gtd $250,000 $200,000 $158,000
Total Tournaments 16 19 17
Avg Gtd $15,625 $10,526 $9,294
Buy-in Range $10 – $250 $10 – $250 $10 – $500

The series will mostly be working off the back of the existing daily tournament schedule offered on the site but will be played in the PKO format and offer boosted guarantees.

Buy-ins for the PokerStars KO Weekend will be anywhere in the $10 to $250 range for players in Pennsylvania and Michigan while New Jersey players will get to play an additional $500 buy-in High Roller tournament. A number of tournament satellites have also been deployed allowing players to win their seats in the higher buy-in events.

PokerStars KO Weekend Scheudle

As already mentioned, the series kicks off on Friday, February 25, with the first event being a small $10 buy-in tournament to get everyone’s feet wet.

From there on, the tournaments will keep on coming throughout the weekend, featuring a variety of buy-ins and formats. Blind structures will go from slow to hyper-turbo, while Second Chance, Deepstack, Total KOs, and Big KOs formats will all be applied.

Some of the standout events include the Event #3 $150 buy-in with Big KOs on Friday, the Event #9 $200 buy-in Bigstack, and the $250 Sunday High Roller which will feature the biggest buy-ins of the series.

While the KO Weekend is not a major poker series, it will provide some extra weekend action for the residents of the three states and build up the existing schedule, pushing the boundaries in terms of player numbers and guaranteed prize pools.

PokerStars Continues to Provide Exciting Poker Action

PokerStars has been the dominant force in the regulated US markets, leading in Pennsylvania and Michigan markets while giving a decent competition in New Jersey going against the likes of WSOP and partypoker US Network. Since its launch in the US back in 2016, it has been offering some of the biggest daily and weekly tournaments, as well as exclusive poker series that draw in hundreds of players.

PokerStars kicked off 2022 with a boom with its Winter Series which ran in all three markets and awarded over $2.8 million in prizes across 128 tournaments.

PokerStars USA ran its Winter Series to give players a chance to be part of a major poker series and it certainly achieved this goal. As usual, it was the players from Pennsylvania who took home the most money, a function of the state’s big population and their uncompromising love for poker.

As we wait for the next major online poker series at PokerStars, the KO Weekend provides an amazing opportunity for players to keep their tournament skills sharp and compete for some valuable prizes on a weekend that seemed to be pretty lackluster until now.
