PokerStars’ Half Price Sunday Returns in All Three US Markets PokerStars’ Half Price Sunday Returns in All Three US Markets

One of PokerStars’ most popular promotions, the Half Price Sunday, returns across all three regulated US markets this Sunday, October 10.

As they have done in the past, the operator is throwing the regular schedule of Sunday tournaments, with a special twist. While the guaranteed prize pools will remain untouched, all the buyins are cut in half.

The five Sunday Majors, Sunday Warm-Up, Sunday Storm, Sunday Special, Sunday High Roller, and Sunday Supersonic, will run on the same schedule as every Sunday, but much bigger player fields are expected with the buyins cut in half.

The promotion, which has been run with great success in the past, is expected to be a hit once more: we expect the guaranteed prize pools to be shattered in the same manner as the last time the promo was run in July 2021.

History of Success with Half Price Sunday

Historically speaking, Half Price Sunday has been one of the most successful PokerStars promotions, both internationally and in the regulated US markets.

The promotion has been running since the very launch of PokerStars NJ, PokerStars PA, and PokerStars MI, and has managed to break the guarantees and bring new players in like few other promos.

The last Half Price Sunday ran in July this year, with all three US PokerStars sites running their Sunday Majors at half price on July 18.

That time, PokerStars guaranteed a total of $162,000 over the three markets, and managed to accumulate a total prize pool of $187,000, shattering the guarantee by over 15%.

The biggest success came in the New Jersey market, where the guaranteed prize pool of $26,500 was broken by 37.30%. PokerStars Michigan managed to go 18.88% over the $48,0000 guaranteed prize pool, while IN Pennsylvania guarantee of $87,500 was broken by 7.84%.

These numbers were the best ones thus far. even though Half Price Sundays have been shattering guarantees in the past as well, the operator kept on increasing the prize pools each time the promo has run.

A Massive Half Price Sunday is Upon Us

This Sunday, players in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan will have the opportunity to play their favorite PokerStars tournaments for half their usual price.

For example, players at PokerStars NJ will get to enter the Sunday Special for $100 instead of the usual $200, and Sunday High Roller, the biggest Sunday tournament, for just $250.

Smaller tournaments like the Sunday Storm ($5), Sunday Warm-Up ($25), and Sunday Supersonic ($37.50), will also be running at half the price.

The operator guarantees that the massive prize pools you are accustomed to in these remain unchanged, with more than $80,000 guaranteed in the five Sunday Majors in PA, more than $60,000 guaranteed in MI, and more than $40,000 in New Jersey.

If past editions of the promotion are anything to go by, these guaranteed prize pools will likely be shattered once again and the lucky winners will go home with massive paydays in return for their significantly reduced buyins.
