Betsson Maintains 2-Network Model With Microgaming Addition

Swedish owned Betsson has joined the Microgaming network. It will work alongside its Ongame network to provide customers the choice of poker on both platforms.

Betsson previously offered poker on Ongame and IGT/Entraction. However, The IGT Network will will soon close—Betsson says it will shut off the tables on November 20—so the Microgaming addition today ensures its customers are never left without a choice.

Group subsidiary Betsafe added the Microgaming network to its poker offering in August, also now boasting the Microgaming/Ongame combo. The Ongame network which bwin.party recently sold to Amaya Gaming. The two network strategy enables Betsson to offer a wider range of new player offers and incentives than it could if it only supported one network.

According to Microgaming, Betsson has been integral to “shaping the design and functions of the new lobby,” which is being rolled out to Betsson and other poker rooms.

Microgaming has been a substantial beneficiary of the demise of Entraction and has added several former rooms to its stable. Cash game traffic on the network is up approximately 35% over the last two months.

The Betsson group (BML Group Ltd) is now based in Malta and in July announced that it would be hiring an additional 300 staff on the island.
